Three Indonesians in China sentenced to death for carrying drugs


Beijing (ANTARA News) - Chinese courts of law have sentenced three Indonesian women to death for bringing in illegal drugs into the country and the women are currently being held in Kunming prison in Yunnan Province, a Indonesian embassy official said.

"The three Indonesians were arrested for carrying narcotics. They have all been put on trial and the verdict was death," the charge d`affairs at the Indonesian Embassy in Beijing, Mohamad Oemar, said Thursday.

He said the three Indonesians were allegedly linked to an international drug syndicate.

The Chinese court had rejected appeals by two of the defendants, and would still consider another appeal.

Among the factors that had aggravated the three defendants` case was the fact that they had been sent to jail for drug offenses several times before.

"The Chinese court has notified the Indonesian Embassy about the case and its verdict. We could not intervene (in the court verdict)," said Oemar who refused to name the three women.

The embassy had sent one of its officials to Kunming to visit the three women in jail and asked local authorities to respect their rights.

Oemar said he had warned Indonesians in China not to bring in illegal drugs into the country.

"China metes out harsh punishment to citizens or foreigners who bring in narcotics or other illegal drugs. Therefore, I call on all Indonesians coming to China to be careful," he said.

The involvement of Indonesians in drug effenses would only damage Indonesia`s image in China, Oemar said.(*)

Orang2 INDO..kadang emang "konyoL"..
Mereka sering beranggapan bahwa LN tuh gak beda jauh ama dalam negeri..
Seperti 3 WNI tolol ini..,mereka mungkin beranggapan bahwa hukum di CINA gak beda2 jauh lah ama INDO..,yg rulenya bisa CINCAY,kompromi,atau apalah istilahnya ,shg mereka berani nekat bawa "PARAMEX" ke CINA .
Mereka lupa ama pepatah ini kali ya..:
LAIN LADANG LAIN BELALANG,LAIN LUBUK LAIN IKANNYA .

Anyway penerapan sangsi hukum yg keras dan tegas oleh CINA emang udah sering santer diberitakan di mana mana . So..ini bisa djadikan warning buat siapa aja yg mau "iseng" ama hukum di CINA .

Cuman..gak tahu ya..,kalau DUIT hasil KORUPSI ..,dibawa kabur ke CINA..,apakah bakalan dihukum MATI atau malah DISAMBUT spt PAHLAWAN ?
